Community Grants
Voluntary Organisations that operate in Welwyn Hatfield, recruit most of its members from the borough and can show a need for financial assistance are eligible to apply for a grant.
Who can apply?
Groups who can apply include
- Sports Clubs
- Music Societies
- Groups for young and older people
- Environmental groups
- Arts and Cultural Organisations
- Advice giving services
- Other groups that represent the interests of local residents
What can we apply for?
Grants can be used for many purposes including
- Buy equipment / materials
- Repair or improve premises
- Train staff / volunteers
- Produce publicity material
- Hold an event
- Subsidize running costs
We would not give grants to organisations which can fund their activities from members' subscriptions, have substantial cash balances or can obtain funds from other sources.
We do not normally provide total funding for a project and will not pay retrospectively for events that have already taken place.
