Golden Jubilee Awards for Young People
Small grants are awarded to help and encourage talented young people to reach their full potential.
Who can apply for a Golden Jubilee Award?
Applicants must
- Be aged between 11-21
- Be in full time education
- Live in Welwyn Hatfield
- Have reached County, National or International standard in their chosen sport, show exceptional potential in art or be embarking on a personal challenge
- Be able to demonstrate continuous improvement
- Be able to provide a reference from an "official" on headed paper from the relevant governing body
- Demonstrate the need for financial assistance
How much can I apply for?
Awards are normally no more than £250
What can I use the award for?
Only one application can be made per year for
- Coaching, tuition or training costs
- Travelling expenses
- Entry fees to competitions
- Equipment/ materials
Awards will not be given for
- Clothing, spending money, food, membership fees
- Events that have already taken place
- Projects that are of an inappropriate nature
