Other Council committees and panels are listed below.

These can make decisions and/or deal with specialised areas.

Planning Control Committee

This committee is responsible for all matters relating to development control and enforcement, and considers planning applications not dealt with by the Chief Planning and Environmental Health Officer under delegated authority.

There is a hearings procedure which provides for applicants and objectors to speak at licensing meetings detailed in Having Your Say at Meetings.

Hackney Carriage Committee

This committee deals with applications for Hackney Carriage and Private Hire licences and considers alleged offences and the suspension/revocation of these licences. (five members)

Audit Committee

The Audit Committee has five councillors.  It provides independent assurance that the council has an adequate and effective internal control environment, independently scrutinises the council's financial and non-financial performance and oversees the financial reporting process.

Standards Committee

The Standards Committee is comprised of four councillors, five independent co-opted members and four representatives of the Welwyn Hatfield Association of Local Councils.  It exists to promote and maintain high standards of conduct by members and co-opted members of the council.  It is chaired by an independent member.

There is a Code of Conduct for councillors which they must adhere to.

Cabinet Panels and Committees

There are four Cabinet Panels appointed by the Cabinet which deal with policy and development in individual and specialised areas. These can make recommendations to the Cabinet.

Complaints Committee

This considers any matter, which is the subject of a complaint under the Council's Complaints Procedure referred to it by the complainant, about the failure of the Council to deal properly with the matter.

Other Committees

The council has other small committees that deal with issues as and when they arise. These are usually time limited to investigate an individual issue.
