Fifty two candidates contested seventeen seats on Welwyn Hatfield District Council in the local elections on 4 May 2006. The Conservatives retained their control with an increased majority.
The political composition of the council is now:
- Conservative 32 seats
- Labour 12 seats
- Liberal Democrat 3 seats
- Green 1 seat
The Conservatives gained two seats from Labour in Haldens and Howlands wards, and Liberal Democrats gained a seat from Conservatives in the Handside ward. For the full results, view our Election Results page.
Hatfield Town Council By Election
